Hella Jongerius’s archive enters Vitra Design Museum
The archive of Hella Jongerius (2017 Sikkens Prize winner) will be incorporated into the Vitra Design Museum. The museum’s curators are working with the designer on the first retrospective of her work, which will open in 2026.
The Vitra Design Museum is looking forward to the collaboration, the museum wrote on Instagram:
‘We are happy to announce that Hella Jongerius has decided to place her extensive archive into the hands of the Vitra Design Museum, whose curators will collaborate with the designer on developing the first retrospective of her work, scheduled to open in 2026.
Hella is one of the leading designers of the last few decades. Her work encompasses textiles, furniture, ceramics, and interior design as well as an internationally acclaimed artistic practice. Her work is characterised by ground-breaking research into materials, techniques, decoration, and colour, underpinned by her critical reflection of design practices.’
