Aftermovie: Sikkens Prize 2024 awarded to Pipilotti Rist
The Sikkens Prize 2024 was awarded to leading Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist on Monday, 7 October 2024. The programme of the award ceremony was dominated by Rist and colour.
Dr Alexandra Loske gave the Mondrian Lecture on pioneering women in the history of colour, we showed a film with Rist about colour and there was a dance performance by the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam with a choreography specially created for the Sikkens Prize 2024 ceremony by Nanine Linning. Sjarel Ex gave the laudation, after which Rist received the Sikkens Prize prism from the hands of board members Maarten de Vries and Karin Amatmoekrim.
After the official part of the presentation, the company visited Rist’s installation Wasting life on you at the Boijmans van Beuningen Depot. The award ceremony ended with a festive after-party at the Depot.
